Had this great wine when I travelled to Priorat couple months ago. The winemaker, Ricardo, showed me his vineyards, oak barrels, and told me all the history of his family-style winery. It was amazing to see how much he knows about the soil, the climate, the different pruning methods and vineyards management.
This particular wine is made from old vines on slopes, dominated by Mazuelo (Carignan), aged 18 months in french oak, inky purple in color, powerful and chewy, with concentrated dark fruits and hints of slate and mushroom. It definitely has a decade of cellaring potential.
