November is special to me. There are many amazing things worth celebrating - my birthday, our anniversary, and of course, Thanksgiving! Which means...we are going to need lots of Champagne! We always say Champagne doesn't need a special occasion to be enjoyed, but sometimes, you just have to open a delightful Champagne to celebrate the joyous moment in life, am I right?

What better way to set a festive mood with than a bottle of Champagne Taittinger? Champagne Taittinger is one of America's best-loved Champagnes, also one of the last remaining family-owned and operated Champagne houses. Unlike most large houses, Taittinger relies primarily on estate grapes for its portfolio. One uniqueness is the higher proportion of Chardonnay in its wines that forms its signature style, along with the time devoted to aging the wines before release - in most cases vastly exceeding the legal requirement.

Taittinger carries an extensive range of Champagnes, from the affordable “Prestige Brut” to the more prestigious “Comtes de Champagne Rosé”. Of all these beloved Champagnes, my favorite is undoubtedly the Brut La Française - made from 40% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Meunier, sourcing perfectly matured grapes harvested from over 35 different vineyards. The high percentage of Chardonnay is distinct among fine non-vintage Champagnes. This wine has a subtle, pale gold color with fine, persistent bubbles. It is delicate, with the fragrance of peach, white flowers, vanilla pod and brioche on the nose, and flavors of fresh fruit and honey on the palate. The aging of Brut La Française on the lees for almost 4 years is more than double the legal minimum of 15 months. This extra time in the cellar allows the wine to reach the peak of aromatic maturity, resulting in a delicately balanced Champagne. It is well gathered, conveying harmony across the overall taste of all dimensions.

This year, Thanksgiving will be a little different for us as my husband and I are looking to scale down the big feast to an intimate dinner for just the two of us. We just came back from two weeks of international traveling and really prefer a less stressful and more meaningful holiday! All we need is a minimalistic table with our favorite sushi and Champagne! The best sushi is all about simplicity and delicacy, which makes this Brut La Française an unparalleled pairing - elegant, balanced, while accessible and cost-efficient at the same time! Even if you are having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with families or friends you should still try this bottle, while the flavors of a Thanksgiving menu can range from savory roasts and stuffings to sweet yams and pies, the right Champagne will blend in well with them all.

Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, toasting with your besties, or you're really feeling only yourself and looking for a little something special to sip during this holiday season, just remember to start your day with a smile and end it with an exquisite bottle of Taittinger!
